Cruel Crown is a prequel to Victoria Aveyard’s “The Red Queen Series”. It is a young adult fantasy series that began in 2015 with Red Queen and ended in 2019 with Broken Throne. It is ideal for fans of George R.R. Martin’s “Game of Thrones”.
Going back to Cruel Crown, it is two prequels compiled together – Queen Song and Steel Scars. Queen Song is about Queen Coriane, first wife of King Tiberias and mother of Prince Cal. Steel Scars on the other hand gives background about Captain Diane Farley of the Scarlet Guard and Shade Barrow and how they met exactly.
Still unsure if the novel series is a good read? Well, as of May 2021, plans to develop a TV series has been announced and Elizabeth Banks will direct it and even have a supporting role in the show!
